Quantics does the maths for EO!

Quantics Biostatistics, a leading a biostatistical solutions provider has moved to employee ownership.

Established in 2002 by Ann Yellowlees and based in Edinburgh, Quantics provides expert statistical support to help pharmaceutical and biotech clients resolve complex challenges with biological and clinical data. Over the past 19 years, Quantics has grown to include a unique and diverse team of highly experienced and qualified statistical, mathematical, scientific, programming and medical experts.

The transition of ownership to an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT) is an important milestone that recognises, rewards and empowers the employees who are integral to Quantics’ continued success. The transition, which was officially completed on Friday 30th July, was supported by Scottish Enterprise through a feasibility study and the expert advice of Ralph Leishman, an employee ownership specialist.

Ann Yellowlees, Company Founder and Director, commented, “Our diverse, dynamic and talented team is at the very core of our business. We are delighted to transition Quantics to the team , providing them with the opportunity to continue to grow the company and share in its future prosperity. We are confident that this EOT aligns all the interests of the business , the team and our clients, while also empowering the next generation of talent.”

Philip Speakman, Chief Executive Officer at Quantics, stated, “Quantics is proud of our supportive and collaborative working environment. Everyone has been involved in growing Quantics to what it is today.  We have grown 3-fold in the last 5 years and, the EOT will help to foster an even stronger culture of ownership and collective responsibility to help drive the Quantics of tomorrow. We all firmly believe that our transition to EO is the best way to acknowledge the extraordinary contribution of our team whilst securing the long-term stability, success and growth of Quantics for the benefit of all our employee owners as well as our clients.”

Philip adds; “As soon as we started to discuss Employee Ownership as a succession plan for Ann and Ian, the founders of Quantics, it became abundantly clear that this was completely aligned with the values they built the business on and that it would provide the best possible future for the company as well as the team that helped create what it is today.  From the very first conversation we were all completely aligned, so with the help and support of Ralph and Scottish Enterprises, it was a very smooth process and we all look forward to a great future together as employee owners”
