Combining RP reports can only be done in Routine mode but the technique to be used must be selected in the Development mode before submitting the MCF.
The methods used for combining Relative Potencies (RPs) are based on the US Pharmacopoeia general chapter <1034>: Analysis of Biological Assays.
There are three different methods available to the user. The method should be chosen based upon what assumptions on the assays can be made.
In addition, there is an option to automatically perform a statistical test to decide which of the two weighted methods to use.
In each case the RP estimate and its 95% confidence interval are calculated on the log scale; the values are back-transformed to give the results on the RP scale.
Optionally, a limit can be set for the precision upper bound. This is the ratio of the upper and lower bounds of the relative potency confidence interval called Precision.
If a value is set, RP values will only be included in the combined report if their value of this ratio is below the set value.
