The QuBAS system will only accept "delimited" type text files in UTF8 encoding. The most common of these is the comma separated variable or .csv file described here but QuBAS can also read tab,";" or space separated files.
Import plugins are available that will convert various plate reader outputs into the standard QuBAS format. Once loaded into QuBAS these can be selected as part of the file import process. An auto import feature is available in Routine mode, that configures QuBAS to watch a pre-specified folder location, automatically imports and runs files saved to this location.
Excel files
It is important to note that Excel files are not .csv, but can be exported in .csv format by using the Save as function and selecting CSV UTF-8:
Types of information in a Data File - results and Metadata
Data Files usually contain a mixture of types of information:
Response values
The results of the assay measurements
Metadata
Other associated information such as:
Test and reference sample identifiers
Dose values
Assay identifier
Operator
Laboratory reference
Date
In order to use this information, Metadata placeholders are specified on the Data Map.
This information may or may not be present in the Data File. If present QuBAS can read it and transfer the information to the statistical analysis report. Metadata can also be searched. If it is not present in the Data File it can be entered manually when designing your Data Map.
